Dr. Jay Lloyd was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. After graduating from Lexington High School, he attended Wofford College where he earned dual BA-BS degrees in Art History and Economics. While in college, Dr. Lloyd studied abroad in Italy and Greece, and was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and both Pre-Dental and Pre-Law societies. Dr. Lloyd continued his education at the Medical University of South Carolina where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He was then selected for an advanced surgical training residency at the Foundry Dental Implant Center in Birmingham, Alabama. This residency gave him extensive training in surgical and prosthetic training focused around implant dentistry, IV sedation, wisdom teeth extractions, sinus surgery, and various bone grafting procedures. After residency, Dr. Lloyd moved to Midtown and has made Atlanta, Georgia his permanent home.
Dr. Lloyd is an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry for which he is seeking his fellowship. Dr. Lloyd remains passionate about pursuing continuing education opportunities, especially in the areas of digital dentistry, implantology, and Botox for the management of TMJ-related oral facial pain and cosmetics. Dr. Lloyd is passionate about community service, and has gone on several international mission trips to provide dental care to the underserved areas of Jamaica and the Island of Grenada, West Indies.
In his free time, Dr. Lloyd enjoys traveling, working out, cooking, and indulging in a glass of red wine. He also loves spending time with his family, friends, significant other, and his two fur babies—Luna (Siamese) and Scarlet (Beagle-mix).
